EasyEngine Dashboard v2.6 Released
EasyEngine Dashboard v2.6.0 is out. This release introduces persistent in-app notifications; dashboard events now wait for you instead of flashing past as toasts you can miss. In the spirit of a spring cleanup, we’ve also rolled out a round of UI tweaks that improve the experience of onboarding and using EasyEngine Dashboard day to day.
Notifications come to EasyEngine 🛎️
A new bell in the top bar opens a notification tray with All, Unread, and Critical tabs and a “View all notifications” link. For the full history there is a dedicated Notifications page, with search, filters, events grouped by day, and pagination from 20 to 200 per page.
Every event is tagged by category (Infrastructure, Job) with a timestamp and stays put until you acknowledge it: a site created or deleted, a PHP version bump (8.4 to 8.5), a long background job finishing. Notifications over email & via webhooks, and customizable notification events are in our backlog.
A spring cleaning of the dashboard 🧹
The rest of v2.6.0 is a UX audit across all our screens:
- Get your first site live faster: new accounts now open on a guided “Get started” card that walks you through three steps (connect a cloud provider, create or connect a server, launch your first site) with a progress ring, and a “Skip setup for now” link if you already know your way around.
- Connect a cloud provider without the guesswork: you pick one provider and fill in just that form, instead of staring at every provider’s fields at once (WP Cloud, AWS, DigitalOcean, Hetzner). Each field now explains what it wants, and WP Cloud whitelisting hands you copy-ready IPs and a contact link rather than a blank email to write.
- Less friction in the small stuff: empty screens point you to the next step, filters are simpler to apply, your list view and filters survive navigation (no more losing your place), the dashboard warns you before you discard unsaved edits, and switching between organizations is quicker with search and recents.
We’re thrilled that a few UX suggestions came from a first-time user. Props to EasyEngine user Avneesh for surfacing them, and for mocking up fixes that helped shape where the dashboard goes next.
EasyEngine Dashboard v2.6 is available to all users, no action required. We would love to hear what works for you, and what you would like to see in upcoming releases.
